SIGMADESIGN is a fun, fast-paced engineering consulting company currently experiencing explosive growth.  We are looking for a Systems Engineer. Primary Function:
Utilize multidisciplinary engineering experience and knowledge to define and manage project requirements, system architecture (system and subsystem interfaces); provide technical leadership to project teams.

Essential Job Functions – Responsibilities:
• Product Project requirements: gather, define, refine and continuously manage. Create and maintain requirements-related documentation; ensure sufficient consideration of safety, reliability and regulatory needs.
• Systems architecture: define system and constituent subsystem interfaces; select major components; conduct physical/mathematical modeling, simulation and analysis; arbitrate interdisciplinary trade-off decisions; experimentally validate concepts through rapid prototyping.
• Technical leadership: act as technical representative both internally (between engineers and project managers) and externally (between project team and clients) to assess and ensure requirements compliance, minimize misunderstandings, convey status, ask questions, provide answers; ensure internal engineering standards and review processes are adhered to.

Education and Experience: (Knowledge, skills, & abilities)
• Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics. Masters Degree preferred.
• At least 7 years professional experience (4 years w/ Masters) in one or more engineering disciplines. Systems Engineering experience preferred.
• Familiarity with practical engineering practices related to Electrical/Electronics, Software, Firmware, and Mechanical Engineering disciplines.
• Understanding of worldwide product regulations and design-related concerns related to such, especially for safety, reliability and electromagnetic compatibility (EMC). 
• Physical/mathematical modeling and analysis using tools such as Python (numpy/scipy, pandas, Jupyter); Mathcad; MATLAB; Mathematica; or similar.
• Systematic problem-solving experience; troubleshooting; Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
• Demonstrate responsiveness, tact, diplomacy, good judgment, and confidentiality in communications with all levels of personnel, clients, and outside vendors. 
• Strong written and verbal English language communication skills.
• Excellent teamwork/interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, both within and outside one’s own work group.
• Pass a post-offer background verification.

Work Environment:
Commercial and light industrial environments. Travel may be required, but overnight/long-distance travel expected to be rare.
