Title: Document Control Specialist

Description Job Summary:

Responsible for the collection, maintenance, and distribution of all documents necessary to define product configuration and control manufacturing processes that ensure conformance to customer requirements. Maintains a comprehensive NIST 800-171/CMMC compliant filing system and computer database for all documents to be retained in the latest revision of appropriate documentation on time.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage documentation to meet NIST 800-171 and Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) requirements;
• Collect and maintain files of the latest revision level documentation necessary to define product configuration and control manufacturing processes within an AS9100 certified management system;
• Process and implement change requests to controlled documents;
• Utilize USC’s computer system to maintain all filed documentation that ensures fast retrieval of documents;
• Create and collate certifications of compliance for the product;
• Prepare purchase orders for outside services;
• Review, print, and timely distribute the latest revision level documentation to all appropriate users and ensure removal of obsolete documentation from distribution;
• Responsible for digital submission of documents via various customer/suppliers web interfaces;
• Correspondence/handling customer/supplier issues including distribution and re-submittal of revisions;
• Seek out methods to continually improve processes;
• Follow up on CAPA and NCR’s for closure;
• Assist with the visual inspection, part marking, and packaging of product;
• Evaluate AS9100D compliant procedures, and recommend changes or modifications for improved efficiency and adaptability in regards to document control;
• Adhere to AS9100D compliant procedures and processes; 
• Assist with the preparation of work instructions for the illustration of US Castings’ processes;
• Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations, and
• Perform any other duties assigned by management.

Job Qualifications:

• Must exhibit understanding and commitment to US Castings’ Core Values;
• High School Diploma, or equivalent;
• 2 years’ of related experience in a clerical environment (Manufacturing a plus);
• Experience with NIST 800-171 and CMMC systems preferred;
• Experience in records management in an ISO 9001, AS9100, or IATF 16949 manufacturing environment preferred;
• Must be physically able to move, push, pull and lift at least 50 pounds;
• Ability to collaborate in a fast-paced, constantly evolving QMS environment;
• Strong communications skills, including interpersonal, written, and verbal;
• Detail-oriented and organized;
• Solution-oriented, excellent problem-solving skills;
• Self-starter yet able to take orders as directed;
• Comfortable working around heavy equipment in a dynamic environment;
• Willingness to work on the shop floor as well as in an office environment;
• Strong computer literacy skills required for timekeeping and data entry;
• Must be flexible and willing to adapt their schedule to meet business demands;
• Weekends and holidays may be necessary;
• Willingness to work in a foundry type environment (inspection laboratory is located within a foundry and serves as support of casting production);
• Constant walking, standing, pushing, pulling, carrying, lifting, kneeling, bending, stooping, and moving during working hours, and
• Required to pass a drug and hearing test to maintain a safe work environment.
